When a business maintains an inventory of large or heavy products, it is often more cost effective to store the products in a warehouse. In most cases, the cost of a warehouse can be less expensive when a company stacks their products. By stacking items, the space needed for storage is reduced. However, a problem arises when heavy products must be moved or transported and there is a great potential for injury if an acceptable alternative is not found. Investing in lifting equipment can save a company time and money for their business.

When choosing lifting equipment, it is important that you know the type of products that will be moved, the height that the forks of the equipment must reach, and the size of the area where you must be able to maneuver. There are many different types of equipment for controlling inventory, so finding the best system will be very easy when you know what you are looking for.

Powered pallet hand trucks may be powered by electricity or other fuel. The trucks have a platform, upon which the operator stands or sits and has up to a 3000 kg capacity. The trucks have various configurations and numerous features. The controls for the trucks are very conveniently on the handle bars of the truck so the operator has complete control of the movement and lift of the truck.

Another option that is used in small spaces for stacked inventory is the hand pallet truck. These trucks are controlled manually and have all controls in the handles. A safety feature of the truck is an automatic shut-off that stops the truck when the operator lets go of it. These trucks have a 2500 kg capacity with a 200 mm of lift. A unique feature of these trucks is the single and tandem loan wheels and scissor lifts that are found on most models. For smaller warehouses that have moderately sized pallets, these trucks can greatly reduce injury and discomfort from bending, moving inventory manually, or lifting.

The heavy duty pallet trucks are for heavier items and have a seating area with controls. Included features on these trucks are power steering, suspended floorboard, and AC traction. In addition, there is an entry bar and safety switch that gives the operator the ability to control the truck more easily.

Pedestrian or riding stackers are designed with forks that will allow you to move pallets easily from the 2nd and 3rd tier of racks. The length of the fork can be adjusted for larger products and the controls are in easy reach of the steering bars. Among the safety features on these lifts is an automatic shut-off that prevents unexpected movement. In addition, the forks lock in place so there is no danger of dropping or lifting without operator control.

When you are comparing lift equipment, it will be important to think about the capacity of the truck you select and your long-term needs for the truck. If your business and inventory are going to grow, getting a heavy duty truck will be a wiser investment. If you have special needs and requirements for the truck finding one that can have additional features added will be helpful.

Talking to an individual who has knowledge and expertise in the different types of lifting equipment available will be helpful. When you have identified what type of lift you are interested in, they will be able to give you the important information you need about each type of truck that will best meet your specific needs and requirements.
